Community Outreach Specialist

The Vida Agency is looking for a Community Outreach Specialist to join the team. At TVA we work on brand campaigns and brand- and issue-related communication services for market segments such as health, transportation, water, construction, public policy, education, and more. We work with public agencies and private corporations to reach diverse audiences for greater cultural impact.

The Community Outreach Specialist assists Project Managers and other staff by performing tasks to help projects stay on schedule and within budget. This includes supporting community engagement processes and the implementation of outreach plans by drafting materials, tracking deliverables, and preparing reports. Work also includes planning for and staffing events (virtual and hopefully in-person soon) and conducting in-person outreach for a variety of projects. This is a full-time position that typically requires 1-2 years of relevant work experience.  

Example tasks include:   

  • Staffing events (in-person & virtually)   
  • Performing various administrative tasks including data entry    
  • Maintaining a calendar for outreach events with the local community  
  • Working closely with community partners to plan and execute various outreach events  
  • Conducting research   
  • Drafting Materials   
  • Tracking Deliverables   
  • Preparing Reports 


  • Great notetaking, writing, and editing skills   
  • Strong inclusive communications skills, including the ability to understand and communicate complex technical information in accessible language  
  • Ability to track timelines/schedules, details, and action items in a fast-paced environment  
  • Strong ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks at once  
  • Professional, outgoing, and friendly personality  
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively   
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products, especially well versed in Teams & SharePoint 
  • At least 1 year of experience coordinating projects and/or eliciting input from diverse communities   


  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, public policy, or a related field  
  • Experience working with public agencies, preferably City of Seattle, King County, State of Washington, and/or local municipalities  
  • Experience implementing public engagement in health, transportation, construction, retail, public policy, education sectors   
  • Experience working in a public relations or communications agency setting   
  • Bilingual is a plus   

Location: TVA has offices in Bellevue and Edmonds. This position requires a hybrid work environment (3 days per week in the office to start).  

Position Details:  

  • Laptop and remote work technology provided.  
  • Annual starting salary is $58,700 – $68,700 and commensurate with experience in similar positions within the region.
