We are beyond thrilled to welcome Majd Baniodeh, our first Director of Business Development & Strategic Initiatives, to The Vida Agency team! Majd takes on the world with passion and a zest for life. She gives 200% to everything she does, and always puts her heart into it.
Majd’s upbringing in Palestine, a country troubled by historical and ongoing violence, taught her to be grateful and humble. She recognizes the privilege that is emotional and physical peace and freedom.
When she’s not developing new work opportunities, Majd loves to spend time with those closest to her heart. Majd’s favorite activities include lifting weights, traveling, and telling jokes.
What was the best vacation you ever took and why?
Jamaica for my honeymoon. It was a trip to remember. My husband and I were able to lay down by the most beautiful water, eat incredible traditionally prepared food, run by the beach, and laugh until our stomachs hurt. Nothing else mattered but spending time with each other and truly living in the moment.
What’s your favorite ice cream topping?
I’m not an ice cream person, so I’d get gelato. Nuts would be my favorite topping – maybe almonds. In general, my favorite dessert is anything with chocolate. Chocolate bar, chocolate cake, chocolate muffin, brownie – anything with chocolate!
What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
Probably binge eating and watching reality TV, like Love is Blind.
If you had 2 million dollars to invest in any cause, what would it be and why?
There are a couple causes I’d invest in. One would be providing educational and professional opportunities for Palestinian youth. The second would be providing funds for criminal justice reform organizations in the US.
If there’s extra, maybe a fund for my shopping!
What activity instantly calms you?
Working out and breathing.
What’s the career highlight you are most proud of?
Leading a refugee hiring initiative at Starbucks. I’m proud of the positive impact it had on so many people across the country, and the relationships I was able to build along the way.
What’s the closest thing to real magic?
There are a couple things. The first thing is real love – when you actually find real love it’s quite magical. MY love for my husband and his love for me is magical; I can’t believe it’s real.
I also think the miracle of procreation is insane. Seeing our daughter last week on the ultrasound screen moving and yawning was beyond magical I’ve never experienced anything like it. You hear about getting pregnant and starting families, but you don’t know how it works until it happens to you. It doesn’t make any sense.
Which fictional character would be the most boring to meet in real life?
Schmidt from New Girl. He stresses me out, because he’s so anal, and OCD, and I lean towards his personality. I wouldn’t want to meet another me.
What are you most excited for in your new role at The Vida Agency?
The first thing is the prospect of connecting to a whole new industry and meeting some amazing and creative people. The second would be building on my business sense. While I’ve done this work in other capacities, this role will strengthen my business acumen and passion.
